I guess in a nutshell, I use Illustrator as a parts factory and Photoshop for the glue/bolts/and paint. I like to take brushes like these and add backgrounds and overlays to my shapes and Photoshop is the way to go when it comes to texture anyway. Combining the vector shapes I create with the power of some good old Photoshopping is usually how I arrive at a finished piece of work. I usually start off in vector and almost every time end up in Photoshop when it's all said and done. ![]() I write mostly about Illustrator in this blog, but the truth is, Illustrator is only the beginning. The smallest brush in this set is 1989px! I was limited by CS2 to 2500 pixels, so that is as big as they get. ![]() I often have trouble finding brushes that are big enough for what I'm doing, so I just made my own. I'm constantly going back and forth between Illustrator and Photoshop in my projects, and I'm starting to pretty much make everything from scratch. Here is a nice set of Photoshop Brushes from BittBox.
